Friends for Life Animal Rescue
|HomeAnimalsAbout UsContact Us|
Due to COVID-19 and the status of our outreach volunteers either being at risk themselves or having loved ones at risk, we are cancelling outreach for the summer and will reevalaute in August. We are still doing adoptions on an individual basis with as little contact as possible (application completed ahead of time).
This is extremely hard on a small nonprofit, as it is on the entire community. It is our sincere hope that people do what is needed to stay safe and in time, our hope that people will again want to look at kitties for adoption. Their reproductive and surrender cycle doesn't match our needs!

Sparky is a 3 mo DSH tortoiseshell kitten who is quite the character. She and her mom and brother were dumped at a construction site and had to fend for themselves for a while before the crew took pity on them and called FFLAR for help. Sparky's foster mom, Julie, worked patiently to trap them and foster them in her home, but Julie has a prey driven dog, so needs to find a forever home for Sparky and her family as soon as possible.
Sparky's mom and brother adjusted quickly to "the good life" (shelter, safety and food) but Sparky needed a little more convincing. Thanks for the grub, Julie, but hands off! Julie fortunately is as determined as any kitten with cat-titude, and broke down Sparky's walls bit by bit. Sparky still has a slightly grumpy cat expression, but her purr is like a diesel engine when she is happy. She is not a lap cat, but Julie can pick her up and put her in her lap and pet her. With more time and love, she should grow into that mighty purr of hers, a dead giveaway that she's a softie under the bluff.
Sparky has not been exposed to other cats, dogs or kiddos in her foster home. At this time, she would most likely bloom in a quieter home. If she could be adopted with her mom or brother, that would be super, but she would also do well on her own.
Sparky is spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated (with boosters) for rabies, FVRCP and FeLV, microchipped and treated for worms, ear mites and fleas.
If you are looking for a character to join your family and feel Sparky (and perhaps her mom or brother) might suit your personality, please contact Laura at (540) 272-3506.
