Friends for Life Animal Rescue
|HomeAnimalsAbout UsContact Us|
Due to COVID-19 and the status of our outreach volunteers either being at risk themselves or having loved ones at risk, we are cancelling outreach for the summer and will reevalaute in August. We are still doing adoptions on an individual basis with as little contact as possible (application completed ahead of time).
This is extremely hard on a small nonprofit, as it is on the entire community. It is our sincere hope that people do what is needed to stay safe and in time, our hope that people will again want to look at kitties for adoption. Their reproductive and surrender cycle doesn't match our needs!

Dulcie is a lovely 10 mos. old dilute calico girl who was trapped as an older kitten and whose mama taught her to be wary of humans. We are working hard to reverse that training and Dulcie is a willing student. She is confident and curious and watches everything we do with great interest.
Dulcie loves her treats and allows gentle pets, but still dances away if you try to scoop her up. Like her brother, Butterscotch, Dulcie was allowing us to pick her up until they had to go on a 14 day regiment of getting pills down their throats, after which both looked at their foster mom with great caution. Dulcie is rebounding more quickly then her brother, and we feel strongly that in a quiet, loving home (sans her meanie foster mom) she will continue to bloom and shed her wariness.
Dulcie gets along very well with her brother, Butterscotch, and adores her foster mom’s adult male cat. It would be ideal if Dulcie and Butterscotch could be adopted together, but the most important thing for her happiness is another loving and gentle adult cat in her home.
If you think you might have the quiet, loving home in which Dulcie (and perhaps her brother) could finish her journey of trust, contact her foster mom, Laura, at (540) 272-3506 (cell)
