Friends for Life Animal Rescue
|HomeAnimalsAbout UsContact Us|
Due to COVID-19 and the status of our outreach volunteers either being at risk themselves or having loved ones at risk, we are cancelling outreach for the summer and will reevalaute in August. We are still doing adoptions on an individual basis with as little contact as possible (application completed ahead of time).
This is extremely hard on a small nonprofit, as it is on the entire community. It is our sincere hope that people do what is needed to stay safe and in time, our hope that people will again want to look at kitties for adoption. Their reproductive and surrender cycle doesn't match our needs!
Siamese / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Adult
Xander is a very handsome snowshoe Siamese mix with stunning blue eyes. He is 18-24 mos.
Xander has a very mellow temperament but we would not describe him as docile. He rules the roost by sheer confidence in his right to do so, but he does not seek confrontation, merely the right of way. Usually to the food bowl.
Xander coexists well with other cats (an occasional corrective whack for the new kitties who get to his intended destination first) and tolerates the kittens in his space as long as they recognize his throne at the top of the cat tree (and are quickly disabused of the idea that his tail is a toy).
We see no signs that he would not adjust well to other cats in the house, but he is fairly indifferent to them, so would not be an ideal choice if you are looking for a buddy for your cat.
He does not do dogs. The last one he met is still bleeding.
However, and most importantly, we feel Xander will be a great companion to his humans. He loves chin rubs, back scratches, and does not object to being held and carried. He’ll even nuzzle into your neck and melt into your chest when he is getting his chin rubs. He hasn't decided about being brushed but is open to the idea. So far his belly is a no fly zone, but if he bonds with his adopter, that will likely change.
Xander makes his foster family laugh with his mellow but kingly demeanor. This is his world, and you are welcome into it!
If you feel Xander would be your perfect lifetime companion, please contact/text his foster mom, Laura, at (540) 272-3506 (cell).
